Carnival of the Animals, Saturday, March 19, 2022 • 7:30 pm (Special Concert in the Ballroom at the War Memorial Theater)
This delightful program will keep you smiling. Saint-Saens’ famous 1886 Carnival of the Animals for 2 pianos, flute, clarinet, percussion, and strings is in 14 movements and shows Saint-Saens at his humorous best. Each movement is preceded by witty poems by Ogden Nash — the whole thing is just plain fun. So, how did animals influence the other famous composers on the program? Come to this concert and find out! Our traditional reception on the Patriots Theater stage follows the concert.
