Event Operations Intern


The Event Operations Intern is a per event employee who works specifically in the area of events and customer service, as well as the opportunity to cross over and work with building operations at CURE Insurance Arena.


Education experiences change by on an event by event basis and may include:
o Learn full scope of event management for all events at the CURE Insurance
o Learn to coordinate set-up for concerts, sporting events and family shows
o Learn to coordinate day of needs for concerts, sporting events and family shows
o Learn to complete full building reports on event days including operational and cleaning needs
o Learn staffing management process for before, during and after events of all departments including Operations, AV /Telecommunication, Food & Beverage, Event Security, Building Services, Union Labor/Stagehands, Box Office, Parking and Outside Client Services.
o Assist with event details and maps, advancing concerts/shows, pre-and post-event inspections, etc.
o Assist event manager with special projects
o Cross over supervision with Operations Department
o Other projects as assigned


Areas of responsibility change by on an event by event basis and include:
o Communicating effectively and professionally with guests
o Appropriately greeting guests and scanning tickets
o Anticipating guest needs and concerns
o Directing guests to seating sections as well as other attractions and amenities
o Handling guest issues according to arena guidelines and code of conduct
o Perform other duties as assigned


Including, but not limited to supervision of:
o Set-up and tear down including: risers, staging, chairs, tables, pipe and drape, and other items as needed for events.
o Installing ice and basketball courts based on event needs.
o Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients


o Must be a current college student and receive academic credit for internship
o Must be at least 18 years or older
o Eagerness to learn about the Event Production industry
o Must be able to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
o Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
o Ability to interact with a diverse group of guests in a friendly and positive manner
o Flexible schedule, including availability to work nights, weekends, long days and holidays
o Strong verbal and written communication skills
o Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
o Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
o Ability to work shifts that could last one to two (1-2) hours after an event ends
o Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Physical Demands:

o Employee is frequently required to sit; stand or walk for long periods of time (minimum 4 hours).
o Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
